The generation that saw the end of the Vietnam War will never die!

so what will be the new light on having such a young gb member?

will it be that obviously jesus clearly meant that evidently, plainly, unmistakably and with out a doubt (matt 24:34) that this generation that overlapped with the generation that saw ww1 and would overlap with the generation that saw ww2 which would than clearly overlap with the ones who saw the end of the vietnam war will never die.. this new gb is younger then i am and i just barley remember the end of the vietnam war.. how do the older ones keep believing this?

how can someone who is in their 60's to 80's swallow this?

i guess no matter what country you live in, the costs of food and everything are going up.

it's certainly no different where mrs cedars and i live, and we're noticing a huge increase on our monthly spending for basic commodities - especially food and drink.. normally when we go shopping i tend to stock up on drinks - mostly beer, wine, and fizzy drinks like coke, fanta or sprite.

i tend to be quite picky with my fizzy drinks, and i can't really tolerate cheap "store brand" imitations.

We like Izzes. They don't have refined sugars added. They're 70% juice in sparkling water. We love 'em. And while fruit juice isn't that great for you, it's better than carbonated drinks.

Maybe add some fruit juice to your mineral water, see how it tastes?

Knocking on doors on weekday mornings is effective... how?

so my boyfriend sometimes goes out on service on weekday mornings.

(he usually works evenings.

) he said that in three hours out there one day last week, not one person answered the door and the only person he saw was a door to door salesman.

my observations.... despite obvious attempts to garner praise, the feedback robert gets from passersby is far from glowing.

at best, it can be described as neutral, with none of those chosen to comment seeming to know anything about jw beliefs.

poor poor Robert... he's been at Bethel a looonnnng time. Hopefully one day he stops marching to WT's drum.

Just like all of their other media, it is designed for the witnesses themselves. Thus the ever urgent reminder that this doesn't replace their door to door ministry.

Overall, very weird video. And pointless.

gosh... i cannot believe i have been disfellowshipped for over a year!

its so surreal.

because of my ingrained belief that the jw organisation is the one and only true religion, i often think about everything that has happened quite often.

Service meeting topic: Masturbation

one of my strangest memories of going to the kh was when a young- maybe 18-20, pimply young man got up to talk about jhvhs view of masturbation during a service meeting.. of course, it was impossible to think about him not masturbating.

i was just hitting puberty and found the whole thing very uncomfortable- i think my dad was even critiquing him (what is that called when elder gives the feedback).

looking back now i can see that to publicly condemn masturbation, especially when a young man is delivering this admonition, is- well- hilarious.
